Description

The Proposal Writer will work with the RFP Team and report to the Proposal Manager. S/he will support proposal development across all US offices and provide other business development and marketing support as needed. The Proposal Writer, along with the Senior Proposal Writer and Proposal Manager, work as a team to respond to RFPs and develop compliant responses. Over time, the Proposal Writer will be expected to take ownership and lead assigned RFPs.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop RFPs/RFIs/etc. responses and coordinate content for multiple concurrent proposals from kickoff to interview/presentation.
  • Assist with key review meetings/final document review, content sign off, and deliverable production as needed
  • Work directly with legal staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) to prepare proposal materials, including writing, editing, verifying, and formatting proposal information
  • Review drafts for accuracy, consistency, clarity, appropriateness, and persuasiveness of material
  • Assist with updating and maintaining RFP library
  • Assist with development of presentation materials for client pitches
  • Opportunity tracking utilizing Salesforce

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Education Level:

  • B.A. in Journalism, English, or Marketing with an emphasis in technical writing preferred

Experience:

  • 6+ years of proposal writing experience in a professional services firm

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and develop content based on technical information provided by SMEs
  • Ability to translate complicated concepts into understandable, layman’s terms
  • Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized and able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work under critical deadlines and re-evaluate priorities while exercising discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and dedication to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and accept responsibility for mistakes
  • Ability to retain information and carry forward to future deliverables
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Experience with or knowledge of the following is a plus:
    • Proposal processes and systems
    • Chicago and AP Style
    • Background knowledge of immigration law, procurement, or human resources
    • Salesforce CRM
    • RFPIO (RFP/content software)
    • Desktop publishing/graphics
    • PowerPoint
