Located on the airport in Terrell, TX (45 minutes from Dallas), The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum was established in 1987 to house, collect and display memorabilia, aircraft and related items to the flight school which operated during World War II.  More than 2,000 British and American pilots earned their wings at the school. With support from the City of Terrell, the museum is in a strong growth curve and is preparing to relocate to an historic building in downtown being remodeled by the City for the museum's use.

The special events coordinator will be responsible for working with partner organizations, city staff, museum staff (2) and an active base of dedicated volunteers to manage and execute a major fundraiser on July 4 which attracted 8,000 visitors last year. A second, fall event is being contemplated. The museum retains two other consultants for fundraising and communications.  Contractor reports to the executive director. Detailed information is on the website at www.bftsmuseum.org.

Cover letter and resumes should be directed to Chris Hamilton (board member) and emailed to info@bftsmuseum.org.
