HMS Employee Communications is seeking a talented communications professional to join our team. We are passionate storytellers who believe employee engagement drives business results. The Senior Communications Manager will report directly to the Senior Director, Employee Communications. This position will be responsible for executing the company’s employee communications goals helping to enhance the employer brand and increase employee engagement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates and executes effective communications campaigns that strengthen brand qualities; including communications for events, intranet, email, websites, social media and other means as appropriate
  • Develops and manages internal communications programs
  • Researches, writes and edits compelling content for employee communications channels, including the company's intranet, video monitors, mobile devices, emails and video
  • Manages the daily activities of assigned communications teams
  • Works with creative staff to ensure videos, graphics and other mediums achieve the desired communications effect
  • Measures communications activity effectiveness
  • Executes communication plan within approved budgets and timelines
  • Develops and executes communication initiatives to internal stakeholders including clients, market, policy makers and shareholders
  • Collaborates with senior management and subject matter experts throughout the organization to identify and develop marketing ideas
  • Demonstrates strong interviewing skills (for information gathering)
  • Communicates complex issues in a clear and understandable manner
  • Meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Builds strong relationships with internal clients
  • Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Presents and communicates ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels to internal audiences through relationship building and strong presence

  • Works proficiently in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exercises independent judgment

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data
  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals
  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs
  • May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major in English, Communications, Journalism or Marketing preferred

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 10+ years related experience preferably in a healthcare environment; demonstrated leadership capabilities
