Parkland Health & Hospital System’s Corporate Communications department seeks an organized, proactive candidate with excellent oral and written skills to help facilitate media and public relations activities to promote the visibility and positive image of Parkland, its work and mission in the community. Fluency in Spanish required.
Duties include aggressive proactive pitching on a local and national level, generate content for news stories/pitches, write press releases, develop ongoing media relations with reporters and news directors at radio, print and television outlets, including Spanish-language media.
Parkland is one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. Premier services include the Level I Rees-Jones Trauma Center, the only burn center in North Texas verified by the American Burn Association and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, plus two year’s journalism, public relations and/or corporate communications experience
Strong writing skills
Knowledge of AP style
Photography skills preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) required
