JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of External Engagement plays a critical role in shaping Chase Oaks’ unique position and advancing its mission and reputation in our local communities and beyond. Key responsibilities include marketing, communications, executive visibility, brand, and community and stakeholder relations.  

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive and ambitious marketing and external engagement strategy and plan.
  • Oversee multi-channel external communications activity at Chase Oaks that tell the story of Chase Oaks in the community. Help build awareness and strengthen our reputation in the community.
  • Proactively consider, establish, and strengthen relationships with key external partners, influencers, and officials to grow the Chase Oaks’ impact in our communities.
  • Identify and coordinate all church outreach initiatives in community.
  • Provide oversight to our external ministries and Local Good teams, advising on their engagement and expansion plans and integrating their work into our broader communications plans.
  • Builds and maintain relationships with local print, television, and radio media to amplify the work of the church and its ministries into the community.
  • Direct and manage agency, oversee their plan and project delivery, and thoughtfully engage their support to advance Chase Oaks’ strategic objectives.
  • As needed, may serve as an external spokesperson for Chase Oaks.
  • Measure strategy activation and impact.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • 5+ Years of Experience in Marketing and Community Relations
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering enterprise-wide impact and measurable outcomes
  • Recognized as seasoned advisor on nuanced, complex, or sensitive topics

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • College Degree

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role will be a team leader role that will oversee External Communications, External Ministry, and Digital Marketing teams. Along with being point person to interact with outside Agency Partnerships.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required. High attention to customer service.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
  • Understanding the abilities of CRM, Social Tools, and Analytic Tools and how to leverage them for impact
  • Familiarity with Databases
