Conference and Event Specialist
Halff’s Marketing and Communications department is looking for a motivated team player to join its staff as a conference and event specialist. The ideal candidate is a highly effective communicator with a strong interest in marketing strategy to lead Halff’s conference and event program. This role will provide opportunities to work with business development experts and practice leaders across the firm in a growth-oriented, people-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with conference team to strategize conference involvement from inception to post-event.
- Work alongside conference coordinator to execute conference logistics such as booth needs, sponsor/exhibitor requirements and promotional material.
- Effectively manage the conference program while tracking conference budget and providing updates to practice leaders and leadership.
- Team with graphic designer and vendors to create new booth designs, collateral and program advertisements.
- Manage seminar/webinar program including content, presentation materials, event set up and invitations. Presentation coaching skills a plus.
- Assist with other events, sponsorship and ads as they arise.
- Assist the Communications team with various projects as needed during conference off-season.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration or related field.
- At least five to eight years of experience working in conference coordination or event planning.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Well-organized, results-oriented mindset and a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with overlapping projects and multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
