Job Summary:

  • Assists in developing and leading and community engagement efforts for a college.
  • The position will be responsible for cultivating stewardship opportunities with alumni, donors, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with VP of Development division in the development of an alumni engagement strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommends and implements strategies for alumni engagement and community outreach, with the goal of cultivating existing alumni and community relationships and developing new relationships.
  • The role will focus on developing means by which to engage alumni through the common bonds of the college and university.
  • Work collaboratively with the Development team to assist in the coordination and execution of the College’s alumni relations efforts to increase participation and opportunities that cultivate relationships.
  • Promote alumni and community engagement events, campaigns, activities and opportunities through various channels such as social media, email newsletters, print publications, videos, event opportunities etc.
  • Coordinate, host, and assist with multiple major events annually (i.e., award ceremonies, conferences, banquets, community events etc.). Responsible for securing space and equipment; independently coordinate terms and prices with vendors; managing budgets; directing and coordinating technical and production aspects; and making final decisions regarding event set-up, design, décor and the overall attendee experience. Manage the colleges calendar of events.
  • Work with the Advancement Services Office to develop and maintain the database of current and potential donors, alumni and community partners. Track and measure engagement efforts; modify strategy and engagement efforts to achieve the goals of the college.
  • May coordinate the development and engagement of alumni chapters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in alumni relations, community outreach, marketing, program management or a related field OR a diploma and six years of experience in alumni relations, community outreach, marketing, program management or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience executing strategic efforts. Knowledge of alumni relations and community outreach.
  • Experience in a university, education, or non-profit environment. Strong background in management and budgeting.

Working Conditions: 

Must be able to travel to events as needed.
