Buckner International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans, vulnerable children, families and senior adults in the United States and internationally.

As the Associate Director of Public Relations, you will support integrated public relations campaigns through the development of owned content, from idea generation to publication across print, digital and video formats. Develop the overall direction for editorial content, while maintaining the high quality expected for all Buckner publications. Grow audience while deepening engagement and brand loyalty. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Public Relations and other members of the Communications Team to strategize and implement a comprehensive public relations plan supporting the programs of Buckner International.
  • Create and lead strategies leveraging owned content in support of integrated public relations and marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee editorial content development and production for current Buckner publications, including print and digital; manage editorial calendar.
  • Develop the direction for Buckner editorial content and distribution strategy; audit trends on new media and platforms.
  • Lead new content idea generation through regular collaboration with Buckner program staff.
  • Support the growth of online traffic and print circulation for Buckner publications; deepen audience engagement and brand loyalty through impactful content targeting key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Director of Video Production on video ideation and production, including writing scripts for videos.
  • Produce thought leader and opinion articles capturing the voice and ideas of Buckner leadership.
  • Write scripts for internal and external events produced by Buckner to engage and inspire stakeholders.
  • Provide additional writing and copy-editing support, including internal communications, white papers, annual reports, and more.
  • Take high quality photos to accompany print and digital articles.
  • Manage freelance writers and photographers.
  • Publish Nuestra Familia, an annual Spanish-language newsletter through fluency in Spanish or managing freelance translators.
  • Develop and maintain key content performance analytics.
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed to monitor, assess and help develop programs and projects.
