Marketing Project Specialist

The marketing project specialist will serve as main project manager for internal requests for collateral, marketing projects, creative assets and the VisitDallas Magazine.


  1. Project Management
    1. Serve as initial contact and primary liaison for all internally requested organization marketing projects
    2. Lead creative sessions for project kick-offs, including graphic designer, writer and project requestor
    3. Manage multiple projects from concept through completion, generating multiple creative concepts
    4. Provide quality control over projects; enforce and protect the VisitDallas brand
    5. Ensure all project milestones are communicated to the requestors and all tasks are proceeding as dictated by project timeline
    6. Supervise any printing/creative bids during project process, while keeping within budget
    7. Projects may include, but are not limited to: advertorials, invitations, collateral pieces, maps, brochures, advertisements, internal and external reports
  2. Email Marketing
    1. Manage VisitDallas email marketing initiatives, currently consisting of monthly and quarterly reports and newsletters to partners and consumers
    2. Refine and grow the VisitDallas email marketing strategy
    3. Develop strategy and tactics for growing the VisitDallas email reach
    4. Create and manage editorial calendar for email outreach
  3. Asset Management
    1. Manage the VisitDallas photo asset library
    2. Evaluate the organization’s photography needs and lead acquisition of new photo assets
    3. Manage and maintain organization’s asset management software, uploading new photos and collateral pieces
    4. Regularly evaluate written and photo assets and purge/update out-of-date and inaccurate information
    5. Lead the creation of new and useful collateral pieces for organization-wide use
  4. VisitDallas Magazine
    1. Lead creation for new VisitDallas Magazine, published twice a year, under direction of Director of Marketing and Communications
    2. Work with graphic designer and writer to develop story ideas, hire contributors and produce publication
    3. Manage photoshoots, providing creative direction to designers and photographers
    4. Serve as main point of contact with magazine printer and distributor
    5. Keep all work within budget



The position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.


Preferred Knowledge/Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or equivalent experience in journalism/communications field.



  • 3-5 years of marketing experience required


Specific Skills

  • Good working knowledge of Dallas and venues
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, written, phone and computer skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and be proactive when dealing with content requests
  • Flexibility and attention to detail required
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Creative thinker
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Project Management
