Housing Channel needs an energetic, enthusiastic intern (or two!) for a paid position(s) in which she/he/they will help us execute marketing and public relations tactics that will increase overall awareness of our brand, with a specific focus on informing and engaging clients, donors, stakeholders, news media members, and opinion leaders.
This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates who want to learn more about in-house (client side) marketing/PR and non-profit marketing and operations. We offer a flexible part-time schedule (including some opportunities to work remotely) and plenty of opportunities to gain skills and credentials that will benefit future job searches and your overall early career growth. Job duties will include developing and updating content on the Housing Channel website, research and information gathering, taking photos at Housing Channel events, proofreading, developing content for print marketing collateral and social media posts, and drafting news media releases.
The position calls for someone who is organized, able to take direction and constructive feedback, eager to learn, and able to adjust quickly when priorities change. Strong technology skills and an understanding of basic marketing and PR principles are also musts.
Other desirable skills and assets include:
• Experience with website content management systems
• Imagination, initiative and creativity
• Strong writing skills
• Experience or interest in photography
• Experience or interest in graphic design
• Working knowledge of a range of social media platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn
• Proficiency in written Spanish
• Volunteer experience
