Manager, Publications and Communications

USFN – America’s Mortgage Banking Attorneys, a premier trade association for mortgage banking/default attorneys, seeks a dynamic, creative, and talented individual with sound editorial judgment and ability to demonstrate exceptional personal communication and writing skills. This position will develop and publish with the assistance of industry subject matter experts, feature articles, section news, and education collateral to inform, educate and engage USFN’s members.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing, editing and curating legal content for publication and distribution in traditional channels (print) as well as digital and other newer technologies
  • Ability to maintain integrity, clarity, and accuracy of materials ensuring the content and format meets expected standards
  • Develop and manage editorial calendars, project timelines, and deadlines
  • Manage the maintenance and fulfillment of digital publications and resources
  • Coordinate with service providers the design, print and digital development of publication projects

Required Skills/Experience

  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 to 6 years of writing experience with excellent written/verbal communication skills, excellent project management techniques, and advanced computer skills with social media and web expertise
  • Extremely strong organization and planning skills and the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with digital as well as print publication management
  • Exceptional communications skills both oral and written

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with nonprofit membership associations
  • Experience working with freelance writers, volunteer contributors, and other external relationships
  • Experience working with marketing, social media, and graphic design professionals
  • Experience writing and developing effective messaging to reflect an organization’s unique voice
