Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator will support and execute brand communications and public relations programs for Citrus PR clients. This person will manage and implement campaign details and collaborate with other agency disciplines, to develop meaningful content across marketing channels including public relations, social media, web, email, and video.

Position Description

  • Coordinate and execute day-to-day PR campaign and projects, handling a high volume of detailed work and providing excellent client service
  • Research, develop, write and pitch story ideas/news to local, regional and national news media to promote Citrus PR clients
  • Build and maintain media relationships on a local and national level
  • Develop a variety of written communications materials, using a mastery of business and AP style
  • Develop and maintain relationships, while supporting collaborations with key influencers and influential organizations (community, civic, etc.) affecting the clients’ business
  • Assist with presentations to clients, colleagues and outside organizations, as needed
  • Assist in the research, coordination and execution of business pitches and development
  • Execute general administrative duties of day-to-day client PR projects
  • Process account specific billing and assist in maintaining budgets
  • Monitor and compile reports for influencer campaigns, media outreach and social efforts
  • Engage in social media execution, keeping informed on trends and best practices in the social media realm to share with clients and team members
  • Assist with content strategy for communications platforms
  • Stay informed of advertising/marketing/PR/social media industry news and best practices, as well as clients’ industry dynamics
  • Stay abreast of client happenings, potential pitfalls and opportunities through reading industry, business, political and community publications on a continual basis and look for opportunities and concerns for the agency and clients

Required Education & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, or related field; PR internship experience, including local market and/or national news media relations, blogger/influencer outreach, and social media writing experience desired; excellent written and verbal communication skills and mastery of AP style

Required Experience
0-2 years of marketing experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, understanding of PR and social media applications and monitoring platforms like Cision, Spredfast, MomentFeed, Sprinklr, SproutSocial, GroupHigh, Fohr Card etc.
  • Training in how to tell a story using words, images, or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns
  • Proficiency in task management and prioritization
  • Ability to present information and ideas in a client setting and/or on client status calls

  • Assist with any and all projects/assignments as requested
  • Actively participate in weekly PR calibration meetings
